Nutcracker

Ballet and All That Jazz will present excerpts from “The Nutcracker” as part of their community outreach program. Your dancing will bring a smile of joy to the less fortunate this holiday season!

Company members from the Ballet and All That Jazz dance school will perform excerpts from Act II of “The Nutcracker” during the holiday season.

The ballerinas don costumes for the continuous performance which includes the Spanish, Arabian, Chinese, Russian and Sugar Plum Fairy variations.  At the conclusion of the 30 minute program a liturgical dance, choreographed by the artistic director, Ranelle Flurie dedicated to the memory of Erika Thimey is performed.

The schedule is as follows:

Nov. 29th Potomac Towers 7:00 pm
Dec. 5th  Coffman Nursing Home  6:30 pm
Dec.6th  Valley Mall (JC Penney) 7:00 pm
Dec. 7th  Western Maryland Hospital  6:45 pm
Dec. 8th  Broadmore Assisted Living  7pm
Dec. 13th  Homewood Retirement Center  6:30pm

Come learn contemporary, jazz & hip-hop with Bonnie Slawson, of Motion Mania & Commotion Dance Studios in Germantown where she also directs Motion Mania Dance Theatre, a professional jazz company.

One Week Only:

Classical Ballet

Susie Banks, formerly with the Houston Ballet and a Hagerstown native, will teach classical variations and character dance.

Dance Recital Rehearsal May 16th through May 20th

The rehearsals for the dance recital will be May 16th through May 20th. Rehearsals Monday, Tuesday and Friday are at Ballet and All That Jazz.

Rehearsals on Wednesday and Thursday are at the Maryland Theatre for dress rehearsal.  Rehearsals during the week of May 16 will be in place of the regular class schedule. You can click, view and print the full schedule here.

Recitals Tickets are on sale now!

Tuesday, December 7 –Pre-Ballet II, Tap I, Tap II, Tap III  (Molly Folsom & Mary King’s classes)

Wednesday, December 8 – Jazz III, Ballet IV/V, Modern I, Modern II and
Modern III (Lorna Rajahpillay & Julie Fritsch’s classes)

You may bring family members and friends as well as cameras and video recorders.  Additional parking is available across the street.  Mark your calendars.  The last week of dance classes is December 13-18, 2010.  Classes will resume on Monday, January 3, 2011!  The Spring recital is Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Maryland Theatre, which is NOT Memorial weekend!
