In addition to training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and hip-hop dance, Ballet and All That Jazz participates in many fun, exciting, and educational activities and performances.
One of the features of our dance year is performing the Nutcracker Ballet. Our students practice with and perform along side professional dancers and ballerinas from the prestigious Moscow Ballet in the historic Maryland Theater in downtown Hagerstown, Maryland.
Other activities include:
- Performed for the 1st Autumn Arts Festival held at the Washington County Museum Fine Arts
- Danced for the residents of Avalin Manor and Somerford Place
- Entertained for the 1st celebrationg Women events held at the Valley Mall
- Performed excerpts from Act II of “The Nutcracker” at Homewood Retirement Center, Loyalton of Hagerstown, Broafmore Assisted Living, and Western MD Hospital
- Choreographed and performed a liturgical dance in memory of Erika Thimey
- Held dance camps at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts
- Taught jazz at “Art Camp in the Park at Doub’s Woods” series sponsored by the Washington County Arts Council
- Continuing with the BTJ Dancers formed through the C-SAFE Initiative
- Host for summer dance camps with Susie Banks Formerly with the Houston Ballet and Bonnie Slawson of Motion Mania Dance Theatre
- Dance recital donations accepted for BISFA
